Barbara Russell Pitts and her sister, Mary Sarao, are the brains behind the beauty of our patented Ghostline® products.

            “I came up with Ghostline out of aggravation,” Mary says.

            At the time, the former teacher was helping her 14-year-old daughter with a school project.  It was Mary’s job to measure, draw and erase the lines on several pieces of poster board.  Once she prepared the board, her daughter would then start on the actual assignment. 

            “It turns out many times they spend more time preparing the board, preparing the project than on the project itself,” she observed.

When her daughter made a mistake, they both had to start all over.  It was a process Mary found to be a frustrating waste of time. 

            “At 3 in the morning I woke up with a vivid dream that there had to be a poster board with a faint ghosted grid that you could see up close but not at a distance and that it needed to be out there for students and teachers,” she recalls.

            The next day, Mary called her sister and they both got to work on literally making her dream a reality!  Now students and teachers across the nation benefit.  Some are so appreciative, they have even stopped them for autographs. “It’s like hearing them say, ‘your baby is beautiful,’ says Barbara.  We have considered Ghostline to be such a wonderful gift to us and to the world and it feels so good to hear them say you came up with such a good idea, something that’s really helping students.  That was our goal from the beginning.”
